About the publisher of the
Security Industry Registers
PUBLISHER:
The Security Industry Registers are published by Hawkeye Services,
owned and operated by Donald S. Calderwood, Editor and Publisher. He entered the security field in 1985 after many years involvement in
the publishing and advertising industry, significantly with much experience in
directive mediums - directories and directory advertising.
An experienced writer and publisher, he's won no small number of awards (11) for
publications and organizations in the security field. Out of this joint
experience - publishing, advertising, directories, security - the need for and value of
the Security Industry Register
concept clearly emerged.
Early on he was directly involved in selling high end
security systems to banks, utilities, institutions, and industrial clients,
primarily in CCTV and access control systems.
Following this was 14 years as Executive Director of the Ohio Burglar & Fire
Alarm Association, helping to revamp the organization and position it more
strongly as a statewide, direct membership association. As a result, within the
first year under his direction the
association was recognized as Chapter of the Year. The following
year he was recognized and awarded Executive Director of the Year by the National Burglar & Fire Alarm
Association.
 A long term member of ASIS International
(formerly the American Society for Industrial Security), he is also a member of
the National Writers Association, Poets and Writers League of Greater Cleveland,
the Painesville Area Chamber of Commerce, and the Cleveland Digital Publishing
Users Group. In addition he is Communications
Chairman for ASIS Cleveland, a 250 member association of security professionals. Aside from the Security Industry Register he is
retained by private clients in the security field and many other fields,
producing and publishing websites, corporate identity, brochures, newsletters,
